Ventura’s Bicycle paths
Soaking-up the beautiful sights on Ventura’s bike paths with the breeze in your face doesn’t cost a thing. Even if you don’t have a bike, rentals are very affordable, so this is still one of the fun cheap things to do in Ventura. Let’s roll!
Harbor boat/kayak rentals
In Ventura Harbor Village across from Coastal Cone
With 4-person paddle boats and motor boats that hold up to 8, a family of any size can enjoy a boating experience for $15 to $65. Click here for more info.
Arroyo Verde Park Trails
Most of the trails here are an easy gradual climb, but it doesn’t take long before you find yourself at a spectacular vista point. It’s also 1 of the 2 dog parks in Ventura. On weekends and holidays there is a parking fee of $2 per hour or $5 all day, but even then it’s still one of our favorite fun cheap things to do in Ventura…
Enter at the South end of Pierpont Blvd
It’s all here: A beach for sun-bathing, a park for family BBQ’s, swings and slides, a fishing dock, and walking paths with a great view of the sailboats leaving the marina.
McGrath State Beach Campground
Enter from Harbor Blvd, one mile South of Ventura Harbor Village
This camping spot is adjacent to uncrowded beaches, nature trails and a bird estuary. And to round it nicely, it’s only a mile from Ventura Harbor Village.
